Schooling & Cultures: Issue 2 – coming 2019!

Are you 16-18 years old and interested in education and decolonisation?

Decolonising Education are running discussions with young people in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow on the impact of colonial legacies on the education system. How does racism present itself in our school systems, and how does this impact young people?

Decolonising Education will lead the production of Issue 2 of Schooling and Cultures.

Decolonising Education want issue 2 to reflect the voices of young people and their perspectives on education in the UK. They are looking to source contributors from around the UK so the publication is reflective of all marginalised voices.

Decolonising Education is an independent organisation, with aims to better equip parents, students and teachers with the knowledge and tools to navigate through the education system.

Call for contribution

Dear reader….

Is there something in the Schooling & Culture journal that resonates / resists / resounds / repels ? If so, why not contribute up to 500 words / or a handful of images in response which will be featured on the Schooling & Culture website.
It could be narrative / analysis / poetic / first person / third person / a lesson plan / a review / an image – related to an aspect of the journal. Contributions will be featured anonymously on the front page of the website and collated into an online archive. There’s so much to say about education, so little time, this is an invitation to deepen the debate and strengthen the solidarity with short and sharp contributions
